How to Apply Training and Education to the Classroom
We Help You Put Training and Education To Work In The Classroom.
What you learn in training can sometimes be difficult to incorporate into the classroom environment. We’ve provided a few examples below on how to implement your education in a real-life classroom.
Education: In order to curtail the spread of commonly transferable disease, teachers use various activities to teach time, place and necessity of washing hands.
Practice:
- Teachers are the best role models for the children in their care. Teachers should wash hands and talk about the need for hand washing routinely.
- Develop routine hand washing before entering the center, before meals, after meals, after toileting
- Sing songs to practice the proper amount of time to append washing hands.
- Read age appropriate stories about necessity of hand washing. Discuss the outcome of the stories.
Education: Young children like to feel secure and comfortable while engaging in quiet time.
Practice:
- Create a safe, cozy and “soft” area for language group, book and investigative time. Use soft, covered furniture that can be easily cleaned daily.
Education: It is important to engage parents and other significant adults in the center activities. It is also important to have accurate attendance documentation.
Practice:
- Greet parents and significant others at patterned stops in the center to welcome them to the center. i.e. at the front door, then classroom door.
- Engage parents to sign their child in, documenting attendance and talk about temperament, activity level, any special needs for the day.
