Louisiana Pathways Scholarships Can Give Your Career a Boost – and Help Your Center at the Same Time.

As a member of Louisiana Pathways, your center can offer you a significant advantage in continuing education. Louisiana Pathways scholarships can benefit staff career advancement as well as improving the overall quality of your center and your career.

Scholarships Available to Active Louisiana Pathways Members

CDA Scholarship

The scholarship is available to CDA candidates ready for their assessment. The scholarship pays $300 of the $325 assessment fee. For those who are seeking a CDA second setting, the scholarship pays $200 of the $225 assessment fee.

Administrative Training

This scholarship helps cover training conducted in Louisiana with a cost of $100 or more for administrative personnel, directors and aspiring directors. Example: National Administrator Credential and Small Business Development Courses.

College Tuition Assistance for Child Care Faculty & Staff (Available for Louisiana Accredited Colleges and Universities)

• Full tuition scholarship - Available to individuals with majors such as Early Childhood Education, Child Development, Birth to Five/Early Intervention, Pre K-3rd, Care and Development of the Young Child, and Day Care Administration.
• Partial tuition scholarships - Available to individuals working towards a Masters or Doctoral degree in Early Childhood Education and/or a closely related field, non-degree seeking students taking CDYC classes, and those working towards CDA training.

The National Association for Family Child Care Home Accreditation Scholarship

The scholarship pays $475 of the $495 accreditation fee.

In order for information to be considered for School Readiness Tax Credit eligibility, documentation should be received or postmarked by December 31 of the current tax year.

Note: The statewide scholarship program is open to individuals working in a Louisiana class “A” child care center or registered family child care home. Enrollment and active participation in Louisiana Pathways Child Care Career Development System is required to receive a scholarship. Class B child care centers are prohibited by state law from receiving funds through Louisiana Pathways. Scholarship recipients must agree to participate in a written or verbal evaluation of their scholarship experience.
